Status Update - November 2020


Hi everyone!

If you're reading this, you've reached the very first devlog ever! I want to express my gratitude for everyone that has supported and helped me over this time.  It's been a very long time since I've started a project and had support surrounding it. 

I like to first talk about how I'm approaching this game. The game will be released in many "Chapters". The first chapter will release sometime in 2021 and we will go further from there.  Since we have a long way before Chapter 1 comes out, I have time to put as much crap I want in the game. 

The game is more complicated to make than my other games.

  • Graphics are more complicated than Low Poly Games
  • Gameplay Mechanics are more complicated
  • My creative and artistic mind is too small for this.
  • Plot is simplistic but the characters have a very big story arc. 
  • Significantly more content than Indie Games
  • I am alone on this project.

In summary, I largely spent the past months writing, composing, and designing. I've haven't started on the advanced coding yet which may be my downfall. I have part of the coding done which is the dialogue system and movement system.  I'm starting to lose motivation since I have a large task in front of me, coding. Coding always has been a hobby of mine, I was quite good at it but ever since I found better ways to tend to my boring life. I stopped coding for a while, I love visual stuff like the Designing  part of game development. 

This is why I stopped developing Cubes which was all rust sandbox. There was no engine behind it like The Secret Path. I'm getting off topic but you get the point.

I will finish this. I will release this. I will hopefully have fun while doing it.
